The Growing Together Garden started in 2015, paving the way for healthy eating educational initiatives and bringing new opportunities for neighbors to learn about gardening, no matter their experience or skill set.
The first Growing Together Garden was located at the First United Methodist Church on North Jones Boulevard. At the Pantry’s new location, we are situated on three acres of land – which means lots more space for gardening!
We are working on a phased plan for a larger vegetable garden, along with space for berries and perennials, a cut flower garden, an ADA-accessible area, and a fruit tree orchard.

While education remains our primary focus, we have goals of expanding our production to be a reliable source of produce for families experiencing food insecurity, supplementing the Pantry’s shelves and expanding the variety of produce available.
